Allison Chinchar, a CNN as well as HLN meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She regularly appears on the CNN's New Day Weekend as well as HLN's Weekend Express', as being a regular guest on CNN International programming. The station meteorologist was employed as a local station meteorologist on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before joining CNN. She's reported on all kinds of weather events, including hurricanes, blizzards, flooding events, and wildfires, receiving an Emmy nod for her coverage of Dorian, the hurricane that struck the Bahamas in 2019. Dorian that hit the Bahamas in 2019. In April of 2011 she reported on the super-tornado outbreak in which 350 tornadoes struck Southeastern United States within four days. Over 200 of them took place on April 27th, 2011. The experience she has gained in the field of environmental science has enabled her to write stories on climate change and natural catastrophes like volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and more. Chinchar received a bachelor's of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
